New and Changed in OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition Update 1

The following versions of OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition Update 1 are available:

  • OpenCities Map PowerView – To view and perform light edits to your 2D/3D maps and geospatial information.
  • OpenCities Map Advanced – For editing, analysis, and management of 2D/3D geospatial information.
  • OpenCities Map Ultimate – For enterprise editing, analysis, and management of 2D/3D geospatial information as well as raster image management.

Some features in this update are provided as Technology Preview.

Note: Take advantage of this Technology Preview, a non-public software service and/or application for evaluation purposes only. Please use the Technology Preview in your normal business environment as needed to form an opinion concerning the performance of the Technology Preview. Bentley personnel would welcome your valued feedback concerning the performance of the Technology Preview as you evaluate the capabilities. Please be aware that at some point, you may receive notice from Bentley that such use must cease or this Technology Preview will become unavailable to you. As we receive feedback, this Technology Preview may also be enhanced, updated or also discontinued without notice.   • OpenCities Geospatial Administrator – When creating a new schema using OpenCities Geospatial Administrator, it is possible to add an “eB Connection” as a graphical source. This is provided as a technology preview and is not recommended to use for production work. This option may not be available in future versions.
  • PostGIS – OpenCities Map Advanced and OpenCities Map Ultimate provides support for PostGIS databases. OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition Update 1 includes support for PostgreSQL version 10.4 database server with PostGIS version 2.4 spatial extension. Please refer to Working with PostGIS for more information.
  • Print Preparation – Print Preparation is now included in OpenCities Map Advanced and OpenCities Map Ultimate.
  • Publish i-model – Publish i-model is now included and OpenCities Map Ultimate.
  • New ribbon workflows – The following new ribbon workflows are included:
    • Map Modeling: Provides 3D modeling tools when working in 3D models.
    • Map Admin: Includes tools to create and update DGNLIBs used as print preparation templates.
    • Map Database Linkages: Used when working with an RDBMS database to store property attributes via MSLINKS.
